France's Julien Jousse has won his first Formula Two pole position at Donington Park. The only Frenchman in the field will start at the front in Sunday's second race at the Leicestershire circuit and will be joined on the front row of the grid by fastest practice man Sebastian Hohenthal.
After a thrilling contest with Sweden's Hohenthal, Jousse ultimately prevailed and topped the timesheets with a lap time of 1:23.507, a tenth of a second ahead of his rival.
Mirko Bortolotti took third, with Kazim Vasiliauskas in fourth and Edoardo Piscopo in fifth.
Championship leader Andy Soucek spun off at Turn 4 with ten minutes to go and ended up sixth.
