Mirko Bortolotti is planning to maintain his championship lead as Formula 2 moves to Spa-Francorchamps this weekend. With the Italian just a single point ahead of Canada's Robert Wickens, however, the former knows that race wins must remain the target as the field prepares for Rounds 5 and 6 of the 16-race championship.
"I'm really looking forward to Spa," said Bortolotti, who claimed his first win at Brno last weekend. "This is the first time I've been here, which is a bit of a disadvantage, but the circuit has a great reputation and I think we will have a good package."
With the championship so tightly packed heading into Belgium, Mirko is one of many drivers to understand that consistent top five result may not be enough at the moment. "I'm keen to do my best on Friday and to see where I stand," he continued. "I can be very happy with my start in Formula Two this season, especially my victory, but the championship is long so I have to look forward and continue winning."
