Henry Surtees took pole position for Race Two this morning at Brno, Czech Republic, just ahead of Red Bull Junior driver Mikhail Aleshin.
Surtees set the benchmark time with just a little more than two minutes of the session remaining. Aleshin responded immediately, but fell short of taking pole position by just over a tenth of a second.
Race One winner Mirko Bortolotti came third, but drops five places on the grid following a sporting infringement yesterday. Nicola de Marco set a time only 0.002s slower than Bortolotti, but will be promoted to third on the grid.
Julien Jousse enjoyed his best qualifying run in Formula Two so far - the Frenchman was fifth, ahead of Andy Soucek. The session was red flagged with just over a minute remaining when Milos Pavlovic spun at turn seven. Fortunately for the Serbian driver, he had set a previous flying lap, which was good enough for seventh.
Three tenths of a second covered the top six drivers.
