Eng pleased with his performance

Although Eng ultimately ended up fifth in the overall classification, the 19-year-old was still pleased with his performance: "It was a really great day," he said. "I didn't expect to be so quick, but obviously I was! I was comfortable in the car right away, so everything was fantastic."
Eng joins F2 after great success in the 2007 Formula BMW World Final, which he won having qualified on pole. Following the impressive victory, Eng was invited to test the BMW Sauber F1 car at Mexico City - an experience the man himself called 'amazing', but now the talented young driver is enjoying driving another car: "The F2 car is really great fun," commented Eng. "It is very quick in a straight line - every driver has said this. It is also particularly good in the high speed corners and under braking. Although the car has good grip you can still slide it around, which I like a lot."
The Salzburg-based driver hopes to get another opportunity in an F1 car, by winning the Formula Two title and the Williams test drive, but the teenager knows the season will be extremely tough: "We have already seen from the test that it is going to be very close and very tough. The car is very stable when close behind another competitor so you can get in the slipstream nicely, which will create some great racing," Eng concluded. "You will definitely see a lot of overtaking manoeuvres in F2, which is what it is all about."
